Postcard to Karel Polák (1940)

Prague, 3 Oct. 1940
My Dear Friend,
It’s been an eternity since we’ve seen each other. It would certainly do us good and facilitate our cooperation if we met. Do you ever go the Metro? I’ll be there on Saturday between 5 and 6:30 pm, then I’ll be at U Paukertů. Thank you for the reviews, they will mostly appear in the next K. M.; I make a habit of printing the reviews by first-time reviewers as an article. Would you kindly write about: Miss Šmahelová’s book Sedmý den odpočívej (Rest on the Seventh Day, published by Družstevní práce) and Bednář’s Bílý smích (White Laughter, published by Čin)? The Bezruč anthology (published by Čin) also awaits you and then there will be the Mácha one, if Jirát, whom I asked to write about it, since you cooperated with him on it, turns it down. Please make the reviews brief, though you don’t have to be reminded of this since you know how to write concisely. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you.
Sincerely yours,
vč.
