Hranice lásky: Trauma jako motivace k tvorbě. Fotografie jako terapie

2nd place

A full 662 pages executed right down to the very last detail. Even though the book (as is stated in its introduction) is intended for linear reading, its
structure makes you want to skip and leaf through the pages, return and continue. You start at the end and end at the start. We have learned to expect the precision taken by Dita Pepe in creating the photography pages. This book shows the way she interplays the photographs with the author’s graphic design. The subtlety of the handwritten address to the recipient of the letter, which is then typeset using type scripted font is what enhances the personal nature of the intimate statement. Although the book also contains the texts of other authors, the nature of the way the book is made creates the impression of an artist’s work. I personally find the pages 522–523 to be the most visually powerful double-page in the entire book (sic black and white).
